Helping in times of crisis

00:10

A heart.Helping in times of crisis, how can we make a positive impact?

00:17

What comes to mind is COVID.When we, well, I started at Factorial in 2020,as everyone knows, there was a global tragedy: the COVID crisis.

00:28

So, I think that as a company we created a positive impact and helped in times of crisis then.

00:36

Why?I think that when we realized that,at that time, the world really wasn't ready yet and that there wasn't enough technology to support remote work to allow people to work peacefully, and to keep doing their jobs day to day.

00:57

And obviously, sadly, there were companies like bars, small businesses and so on that couldn't keep going.

01:03

A lot of families went through really hard times. But all the companies that were able to work remotely had to leave their offices, go home, and connect online.

01:18

Obviously, we at Factorial also had to adapt. We had only been monetizing our product for a very short time, we had started around six months earlier.

01:29

We decided to make Factorial completely free for all the companies that needed it, with no limits.

01:36

And we did it without thinking twice, expecting that all these companies would continue working with us afterwards.

01:48

The reality is that when COVID was over, many companies wanted to continue working with us,but plenty of them didn't. That's fine.

01:57

From my point of view, one of the reasons why I work and am committed to the companies I'm involved with is because I share their values.

02:08

They're very important to me.And I believe that defines us as a company,it comes from our values, from continuing to be human.

02:17

Obviously, we are all here to create a business, to grow,to provide employment to thousands of people.

02:25

Today, more than 1,000 people work in the company to provide solutions,to solve problems for many companies with our product.

02:32

But I believe there's very important human side, that we need to keep in mind, and that we shouldn't profit from someone else's tragedy in order to grow.

02:44

So I think it's something really beautiful that we did,and I feel very proud of the decision the company made at that time.
