Impostor syndrome Gosh."Impostor syndrome how can you avoid falling into its trap?" I think impostor syndrome is something that both men and women,at some point in our professional or personal lives, may have fallen into.

00:27

Unfortunately, I've also fallen into it, but I don't feel ashamed about it.

00:32

I honestly think it's something we should normalize, especially when you realize that it's usually a matter of confidence.

00:42

You grow fast within a company, start taking on leadership roles, and all of a sudden you begin to question everything:"Why am I here?" "Why me?" "What am I doing differently from my colleagues?" You start doubting yourself, wondering if you're really as capable as the company thinks you are,and whether you truly deserve that position.

01:10

It's tough. But well, I think that when you start building your self-confidence,once you recognise the problem and begin working on it,what really helps me is just normalizing it.

01:23

And once you normalize it,you really realize that you can work on it.

01:29

As a leader, how do you deal with employees coming to you to ask how they can overcome their own impostor syndrome?

01:40

When I notice that someone on my team might be suffering from impostor syndrome during a conversation,an one-on-one, or similar,I try to explain to them that I also suffer from it or have suffered from it at some point.

01:57

I tell them it's completely normal, that they need to believe in themselves and never feel ashamed.

02:04

That is, I try, in some way, to explain to them the same things that helped me, so that they can normalize it too.

02:12

I use myself as an example. It's completely natural to feel this way.

02:20

So I talk to them, help them normalize it and listen to them because it's not just about saying "Don't worry".

02:28

They also need to express their emotions, so I give them space to speak, to let it out.

02:36

And I work through that with them. It's one of the things I enjoy the most.

02:40

I genuinely love working with people: caring for them, helping them.

02:46

For me, that's also part of mental health. That's why I want them to feel good.
